When I Meet the Moon novel: 折月亮 by Zhu Yi

The drama adapts the romance novel 折月亮 by Zhu Yi (竹已). It is the last book of her Nanwu trilogy, after 偷偷藏不住 (adapted as Hidden Love) and 难哄 (The First Frost).

What is it about?

Yun Li, a socially anxious girl, meets again the boy she secretly loved for years, Fu Shize, and this time she goes after him. They date, misunderstand each other, split up and grow up apart before finding their way back; Baidu Baike's character entries describe it as two people healing each other. Is there an English translation?

We couldn't find an official English translation when we checked on November 3, 2026. If you read Chinese, the print edition below is the easiest legal way to read it. Please avoid pirated translations; they hurt the author.

The print edition

Beijing United Publishing (北京联合出版公司) published the first volume in December 2022 (360 pages). A second volume, 折月亮·完结篇, finishes the story and adds new extra stories (the publisher's promo says about ten thousand characters). Novel ending

A happy ending. After the breakup and her time abroad, Yun Li and Fu Shize get back together and get engaged; the extras show them with a little boy and cross over with the couples from the earlier Nanwu books.
