What happens in episode 24

Ye Pingjun tells her maid Xiaotang she knows Yu Changxuan loves her, but they aren't on the same path. He overhears and sits alone in his car smoking, wondering if Jin Zhongfang was right to call him a gambler.

He changes her into dry clothes, sleeps on a camp bed outside her door and gives her a hand bell: one ring for water, two for a blanket, three for "I miss you." He lays down a rug and helps her learn to walk again.

Gu Ruitong learns the leaked battle plan came from Cai Fuhu, a Fourth Army brigade commander, but holds the news back. Lan Qing can't afford opium paste, and a man named Tong Chunhai gives her some for free. Kuang Bingwen sees Yu Jinxuan talking to a male teacher and seethes.

Yu Changxuan finds magazines carrying the name "Jun Guan," burns them as subversive and orders Xiaotang out. Ye Pingjun takes the blame and says he isn't the man she wants; he answers that he decides when it starts and ends. He asks Lan Qing to talk to her. Then, visiting his nearby headquarters, Ye Pingjun watches him shoot Cai Fuhu and his son.
